I always do extensive research before I do a project. Since there were so many cool IKEA shoe storage hacks that I found while I was doing research for my entryway shoe cabinet, I felt like it was a waste if I didn’t dedicate a blog post to some of the amazing IKEA hacks you can do!
IKEA has A LOT of great hacks. I loved all of them and thought they were all adorable. They have slimmer solutions or deeper solutions that you can try. My issues were that I need more shoe storage than the slimmer ones were offering and the deeper ones went too far into my entryway (i.e., the ones that used the Besta cabinets). That’s why I decided I needed to built my shoe storage cabinet from scratch so I could customize it to be the size I wanted it to be. But again, I loved all of these hacks so much and felt like they needed to be shared anyways!
SLIM IKEA HACKS
For IKEA’s slimmer shoe storage hacks, they typically store the shoes vertically and have pull-down drawers. These could be a great option if you don’t own a lot of shoes or if you have somewhere else that you store your shoes, but want to store the ones you use most frequently by your front door!
For example, the IKEA TRONES shoe cabinet.

IKEA Besta Hacks
IKEA’s Besta cabinets are some of the most versatile cabinets out there. They also have a wide variety of very cool cabinet door designs. There are even companies dedicated to making door designs for Besta cabinets, so the options with Besta cabinets are endless! More recently, they even have 2 different depths for the Besta cabinets. The standard Besta cabinets is 16.5″ deep. The newer option is 8 5/8″ deep, which makes it difficult to use for a shoe storage cabinet.
